Horizontal vacuum belt filter cloth may encounter various issues during use, mainly including clogging, deviation or folding, and leakage on both sides.
1. Clogging
a. The filter cloth does not meet the current working conditions, such as unsuitable pore size or the poor quality of the filter cloth.
b. The filter cloth is not thoroughly cleaned, and residual filter cake or impurities form blockages on the surface of the filter cloth, reducing air permeability.
c. Improper selection, high viscosity of the material, or exceeding the service life may also cause clogging.
2. Deviation or folding
a. The filter cloth surface is not flat or the strength is not appropriate during installation.
b. The equipment's deviation correction device is faulty or not sensitive.
c. Improper adjustment of the roller position, causing uneven force on both ends.
d. Uneven distribution of materials, such as poor flocculation leading to uneven film thickness on the roller surface.
3. Leakage on both sides
Leakage on both sides may be due to the feed speed exceeding the processing speed of the filter cloth, or improper calendering of the filter cloth causing an uneven surface, allowing the filter material to flow to lower areas.
The following measures can be taken to solve these issues:
a. Ensure the filter cloth surface is flat and the strength is appropriate during installation, and regularly check the equipment's deviation correction device.
b. For material issues, appropriate filter aids can be added to avoid clogging; at the same time, pay attention to the uniform distribution of materials to prevent the filter cloth from deviation.
